Just Announced: East Coast Devastation Tour

Right now I'm prepping for yet another milestone...my first tour of the East Coast. I hope to reach new audiences where lasting relationships are created because we shared an intimate evening of music. But here's the honest truth...I don't know very many people in these cities where I will be playing and I need you to help me get the word out!

Message an old friend who moved away to say you miss them...and then tell them I'm coming to town and they should meet me as your replacement.

Call your distant family member to remind them that you love them...you love them so much that you couldn't bare the thought of them missing one of my shows when they were SO CLOSE to it!

Feel free to get on Facebook and invite them to the Official Facebook Event. Word of mouth works too...usually better.

Here are the details. I can't wait to see you, your friends, and your distant relatives I never could have met otherwise!! Cheers!! ~Liam

Fretlight Guitar Sponsorship & #FretlightTour

One of the most humbling things that could have happened to me at this point in my career just happened; I was given a free (gorgeous) guitar as part of my recent Fretlight sponsorship! They really hooked me up good, with a one of a kind FG-529 Pro Acoustic model featuring upgraded Gotoh tuners, a TUSQ saddle, and abalone/brass pins. I am a lucky dude and I love my new Fretlight!

For those of you who don't know, Fretlight is THE way to go if you want to learn how to play guitar. It's kind of hard to explain without actually putting the guitar in your hands. Imagine if Rock Band/Guitar Hero could be played on a REAL GUITAR...now look at these pictures and know that's kind of what it's like! This is not a toy, but the ultimate tool for the beginning/intermediate guitar player to get better at playing scales, learning new chord shapes, or even to learn full songs! Literally the notes to a song like "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd will be able to light up on the guitar in real time to show you how to play it!!! Now this hasn't happened just yet, but word on the street is that they plan to tab out my entire album The Key To Happiness so you can play that too!!!!!

Many of your questions can be answered by watching this video, checking out Fretlight's website, or simply messaging me. If you are interested in purchasing a Fretlight guitar, be sure to use the coupon code "CAHILL" upon checkout because it will save you 10%!!! I can tell you that buying any guitar is an investment, but rest assured that getting a Fretlight guitar for yourself or a loved one is a fantastic way to learn this timeless instrument...what have you got to lose?

California Gold

Sometimes I can't even believe how fortunate I am. This short tour exemplified the reason why I do what I do. Getting to share songs, stories, and of course the stage every night with San Francisco based songwriter Travis Hayes was nothing short of incredible. Here's how it went down:

I drove to SF a day before our tour started to have a little bonding time with Travis. We traveled his old stomping grounds at Thee Parkside to see an all-star cast of folk/punk songwriters including Austin Lucas, Jayke Orvis, Jon Snodrass, and Northcote. The whole thing basically reminded me of The Revival Tour but without Chuck Ragan...truly one of the best shows I've seen in a long time!

The next day we began our official collaborations where I learned his song "Towns Like These" and he learned "Backbone" from my newest CD. We traded harmonica parts, added vocals to change the depth and dynamic, and just overall had a blast EVERY SINGLE TIME!

"Chill" is the best way to describe our kick-off show in Sacramento. We both saw old friends that night capping off a perfect blend of good company, good music, and good whiskey. The next night we played my hometown of Reno which is always a good time! Josiah Knight brought his best and we really set the bar for every other night. Dark Horse Truckee brought us the coffee crowd so instead of a loud bar, we had an attentive group of music lovers hanging on every word! Then comes Chico, which is always full of good drinks and good times. My new friends in The Lolos absolutely killed it and so did opener Adam Domnie, who nailed a great Tim Barry cover to really grab my attention.

Finally we reach San Francisco's Viracocha, probably the raddest venue I've ever played! They were a finalist for the "worlds coolest bathroom" earlier this year, boasting hard wood floors, elegant rock, amazing showers and sinks, and of course a love seat so that special person can watch your face as you're pooping. But honestly, that's not even what made the venue so cool. It was the basement room with gorgeous wall to wall wood paneling, a packed house of SF music lovers, and 11 of the best songwriters I've ever seen in my life!! From the incredible early sets of Lucas Ohio and Rivvrs, to my instant buddy Doug Tiemann of Blood & Dust, and onward to SF staples like Keyan Keihani, Frankie Boots, and of course Sam Chase! This was a show for the books and something I'm not likely to ever forget!
